SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL

3 men, who were gunned down within days of each other this month, had only 1 thing in common….their killers were motivated by hate.  There is a growing sense in our country that some individuals feel it is okay to demonize, or destroy or even kill whomever they disagree with, don’t like or just plain hate.  There is no shame or remorse for some of the most despicable behavior.   We seem to be hypnotized as we watch the decaying of our society.  God is patient and slow to anger.  His wrath has yet to be unleashed upon us but, the unraveling of civility is surely a sign that God will not patiently stand by much longer.  We have lost our moral compass and are spinning out of control.

Dr. George Tiller, abortion doctor, was killed on May 31, by Scott Roeder , who is mentally ill and against abortion.

Tiller was the most prominent provider of controversial late-term abortions in the nation. He has been accused of performing abortions even the day before a baby is due.

During Tiller’s many years of practice, he is said to have performed over 80,000 abortions, according to Priests for Life. (hat tip to The Christian Post)

Judy Thomas of the Kansas City Star has put together a good, quick profile of Scott Roeder. He is a long-timer on the anti-abortion fringe, and as part of the Freemen movement has been off the grid in other ways as well. He subscribes to an anti-abortion magazine called Prayer and Action News, which seems to be linked to the radical anti-abortion Army of God. The magazine once printed the AOG Manual, which makes the case for killing abortion providers.  (thanks to Spiritual Politics)

One Army recruiter, Pvt. William Long, died and another, Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, was injured when a Muslim convert who said he was opposed to the U.S. military shot the soldiers in Little Rock, police say.

Carlos Bledsoe, 24, of Little Rock, who was known as Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, was arrested on I-630 shortly after the soldiers were shot outside a recruiting office about 10:30 a.m. CT, police said. (from USA Today’s On Deadline)

Recruiters Shot

Daily Me reports…

Long, 23, was murdered Monday outside the Army-Navy Career Center in Little Rock. He and a fellow private, Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, were on a smoke break. Long was shot three times and died within the hour at a hospital. Ezeagwula was hit at least twice, but is expected to survive.

They were both new to the Army. The two had recently completed basic and infantry training at Fort Benning, Ga., and were on a short-term assignment that sent them home to talk with potential recruits about their experiences.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A 23-year-old man upset about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan opened fire from his truck at two soldiers standing outside a military recruiting station here on Monday morning, killing one private and wounding another, the police said.

In a lengthy interview with the police, Mr. Muhammad said he was angry about the killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, Chief Thomas said. Previously known as Carlos Bledsoe, Mr. Muhammad told investigators that he had converted to Islam as a teenager, Chief Thomas said.

Stephen T. Johns, Security Guard, at the Holocaust Museum, in Washington, D.C.,  was rushed to a local hospital but died from his injuries, officials said.

Johns was gunned down as he opened the door of the museum for an elderly gentleman, trying to be polite.  He did not know that he had opened the door to his death.  After entering the museum, the elderly man, James von Brunn, 81 years old, opened fire from a rifle on Johns.

The gunman, who was immediately shot by other museum guards, is in critical condition.

Stephen Tyrone Johns, a six-year veteran of the museum’s security staff, later “died heroically in the line of duty,” said Sara Bloomfield, museum director.

Johns, 39, was described as a warm man with a wonderful smile who acted courageously when the gunman opened fire in the building.

The museum has about 70 officers and supervisors on the force. He was known as “Big John” to his colleagues.

Johns’ son, Stephen Jr., remembers his dad a “pretty great guy,” someone who was always there for him.

Suspect James von Brunn is a life-time white supremacist who has stated that he hates Jews, African Americans and Christians.
