Around 7.4 million viewers watched Sarah Palin walk onto the Oprah set today and meet the Queen of Talk. Sarah is on a book tour to promote her new book, Going Rogue, An American Life, and Oprah was her first stop. It was not a bad interview. The two women embraced at the beginning of the show. Sarah was open and personable and very alert. Oprah was cordial and appeared a bit tense. She asked gossipy questions. Nothing about Sarah’s positions on anything. Oprah’s audience was very strange. They did not interact with Sarah. No laughter, no applause for Sarah. This was truly enemy territory for Palin but she was a barracuda and just plowed right through. Oprah had to be saying to herself, “I’m probably looking at history once again, possibly the very first female president of the United States of America.
Willow and Piper sat in the audience watching their mother as she took question after question. They had to be proud of their mother especially when after being asked about her decision to resign as the governor of Alaska, she responded, ‘I’m not retreating, I’m reloading’. Sarah Palin, Oprah Winfrey hug before interview
8:39 a.m. CST, November 16, 2009
Palin and Winfrey embraced as the former Alaska governor and former Republican vice presidential candidate appeared Monday on Winfrey’s talk show.
Winfrey asked Palin if she felt snubbed at not getting an invitation to the show last year. Palin said she didn’t and told Winfrey, “No offense to you, but it wasn’t the center of my universe.”
Winfrey says she didn’t have any candidates on her show during the campaign because of her support of President Barack Obama.
Palin’s 413-page book, “Going Rogue,” will be released Tuesday and she begins a book tour Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
