Obama to the World: Damn America, Full Speed Ahead

by  Ben Shapiro 04/14/2010

In February 1945, three world leaders — FDR, Stalin and Churchill — gathered in Yalta, in Crimea, to discuss the fate of post-war Europe. At that conference, FDR signed away half of Germany, all of Poland, enslavement of the German population to the Soviet Union. While the conference suggested that liberated countries would be granted free elections, no enforcement mechanism was put in place, so the Soviets effectively annexed every piece of land they occupied.

FDR insisted he had not been duped. “Poor Neville Chamberlain believed he could trust Hitler,” FDR said days after the conference. “He was wrong. But I don’t think I’m wrong about Stalin.” FDR was wrong about Stalin, of course. But he had reason to be wrong — he had been misinformed by his own supposed allies. Soviet agent Alger Hiss worked as part of the American delegation at Yalta; communist superspy Kim Philby and the rest of the so-called “Cambridge Five” funneled papers from the British and the Americans regarding their positions on Poland.

So it’s fair to let FDR off the hook, at least minimally, for Yalta.

Not so with President Obama. He is busily Yalta-ing the United States and her allies knowing full well that the free world will suffer for it.

Take, for example, President Obama’s recent nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia. Obama championed it in order to set an example for the rest of the world: “With this agreement, the United States and Russia … send a clear signal that we intend to lead,” he said. “By upholding our own commitments under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, we strengthen our global efforts to stop the spread of these weapons, and to ensure that other nations meet their own responsibilities.” How will we ensure that other nations meet their own responsibilities? He does not say (shades of Yalta).

What’s worse, though, is the fact that Russia gained more than the United States did in this treaty deal — the United States effectively revoked her right to create any sort of missile defense shield for Europe. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, front man for Vladimir Putin, told George Stephanopoulos on Sunday that if the U.S. pursued missile defense, Russia would pull out of the treaty forthwith. You can bet that President Obama will shelve missile defense as soon as possible based on the Russians’ baseless objections.

Even as President Obama hailed the deal as some sort of breakthrough for world relations, Russia maintained that it would not support heavy sanctions against Iran. Russia’s position completely undermines Obama’s credibility — it’s difficult to claim that arms reduction agreement somehow creates a united front against Iran’s nuclear development when Russia refuses to stand up against Iranian nuclear development.

And that still wasn’t the worst of it — the very same week Obama signed the arms reduction deal, Russia backed a coup in Kyrgyzstan. One of Russia’s conditions for supporting the coup? The new government’s destruction of the American air base in Manas, a crucial U.S. strategic asset used heavily in the Afghanistan war.

Notably, the Obama administration has yet to take a position on the Kyrgyzstan situation, allowing the Russian-backed revolution to continue gaining ground. The Obama administration was not nearly as shy with regard to the fully constitutional change of power in Honduras — that was an outrage, a coup!

That’s no surprise, of course. President Obama only backs policies that hurt the United States and her allies. He seeks self-flagellation of America before the world; absolution for American imperialism can only be found in purposeful self-subversion. Obama feels that America and its allies must be whittled down to its proper size as quickly as possible.

In that spirit, Obama is hosting the Nuclear Security Summit this week. He already opened it by bowing to Chinese President Hu Jintao, hugging socialist Brazilian president Luiz Lula, and pointing his finger angrily at Canadian Prime Minister and pro-Israel advocate Stephen Harper. He has alienated Israel to the point where they wouldn’t even show up — they suspect Obama will sandbag them rather than focusing on Iran. Obama has barred the media from all major meetings — no doubt he doesn’t want Americans to hear what he’s telling foreign leaders about us behind closed doors.

It would be comforting to say that President Obama is a victim of his own naivete and ego. There’s no doubt he loves hearing from human refuse like Medvedev that he is “a thinker,” unlike “other people” (read: George W. Bush). But there’s more to it than simple ego appeasement. There is a disturbing anti-Americanism that animates Obama and his policies. Rev. Jeremiah Wright famously said, “God damn America.” God doesn’t have to. Obama’s doing it for him.

From Gateway Pundit

On Sunday April 25, 2010, President Barack Obama praised the coal industry during the memorial service in West Virginia for the 29 miners who perished in the nation’s worst mining disaster in 25 years earlier this month.

“Five miles into a mountain. The only light, the lamp on their caps. Day after day they would burrow into the coal. The fruits of their labor that so often we take for granted. The electricity that lights up a convention center; that lights up our church or our home our school our office. The energy that powers our country. The energy that powers the world.

President Obama praised the coal industry at the miner memorial service.

But, the president forgot to mention a thing or two.

Less than one month ago his adminstration enforced new rules that will cost the mining companies hundreds of jobs. His administration has even been coordinating protests against the coal mining industry from the White House.
The Prowler

The White House and some Obama Administration staffers at the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency have been coordinating with left-wing environmental groups to launch protests in West Virginia over such techniques as “mountaintop removal mining.” This enabled the EPA to cite such protests as support for their new rulemaking. Earlier this month, the agency imposed rules sharply curtailing that form of strip mining in such states as West Virginia. The rules may end up costing several hundred West Virginians their jobs.

Now the Obama Administration is looking for ways to reward those groups they coordinated with. According to sources inside the EPA, the agency is attempting to find ways to get funding to several organizations it worked with on the mountaintop mining and other efforts, including Appalachian Voices and Coal River Mountain Watch. Meanwhile, the administration is attempting to identify ways to fund a much more influential “pass through” organization, the Appalachian Community Fund, an organization run out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

“Appalachian Community Fund is like the ACORN of West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee,” says a Commerce Department political employee.  “If we can get it just a few hundred thousand dollars, it can organize for us down there in ways to help us politically, and it’s done great things for us with the EPA and other entities.”

He is shameless.

Last Friday Ariz. Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law a new immigration bill that makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally and requires police to enforce the country’s federal immigration law.

Brewer said she signed the bill in response to “the crisis the federal goEvevernment has refused to fix.”

Before Gov. Brewer had even signed the bill President Obama made this inappropriate statement –

On April 9, 2010, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said this about the illegal alien crisis in our country –

Mark Levin was right and we all know that Obama and the left-wing nuts are craving for some type of civil disobedience from the Tea Party Movement.  If this were to happen Obama, without doubt, would initiate martial law.  Fortunately, we have had no such incident from Tea Partiers

On the other hand, reacting to the new immigration law in Arizona there were some displays of civil disobedience around the country by opponents of the new bill ….

Gateway Pundit had these reports-

Pro-illegal immigration protesters threaten police in Arizona.

Don’t expect these violent acts to get much press.
After all, they’re not conservative and they’re not at a tea party rally.

Pro-illegal immigration protesters vandalized the state capitol building this weekend.
The vandals smeared refried bean swastikas on the building windows.
AZ Central
reported, via Michelle Malkin:

The conflict over a sweeping crackdown on illegal immigration in Arizona intensified Monday as vandals smeared refried beans in the shape of swastikas on the state Capitol’s windows.

More protests were planned Monday after thousands gathered this weekend to demonstrate against a bill that will make it a state crime to be an illegal immigrant in Arizona.

Opponents say the law will lead to rampant racial profiling and turn Arizona into a police state with provisions that require police to question people about their immigrant status if they suspect they are here illegally. Day laborers can be arrested for soliciting work if they are in the U.S. illegally, and police departments can be sued if they don’t carry out the law.

But supporters of the law, set to take effect in late July or August, say it is necessary to protect Arizonans from a litany of crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Arizona is home to an estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants.

Verum Serum has more swastika pictures from the rallies.

The violent left is at it again.
A protest organizer smacked a photographer in the head at a pro-illegal immigrant rally in Arizona:

From the video: I was taking pictures at a couple of the recent protests against SB 1070 at the Arizona State Capitol when I was threatened and intimidated by some of the protest organizers. I was able to record some of this as they attempted to prevent me from exercising my rights. I had initially planned to take a few pictures and then leave. However, some of the organizers started to threaten me and exhibit suspicious behavior. That is when I decided to stay and document what they were doing.

This is a clip showing one of the organizers assaulting me for taking pictures.

70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation signed into law on Friday.
But, not Al Sharpton or Barack Obama.

To prove how reckless Obama is – he and the socialist democrats released this video over the week-end to further alienate everyone –

Did you get that?  He specifically named ‘young people’, ‘African-Americans’, ‘Latinos’, and ‘women’.  This is outrageous and unacceptable!!  What about all of the other Americans?  Do they not  count?  Is he not the president of all the people whether they voted for him or not?

This is an appeal to the Hispanic community at this time of crisis with illegal immigration.  Another Saul Alinsky move >>> never let a crisis go to waste’.

And good ole ‘ambulance chaser’ Al Sharpton could not resist this opportunity to stir the pot-

this from Right Coast Girl

As usual, Clarence, of Another Black Conservative has it right on the nose.

When it comes to the left, nothing can be what it’s about. Arizona’s newly passed law can’t be about illegal immigration and solutions to that issue that is causing terrible problems for the state, Nooooooo, it’s about RACISM, of course just as the oposition to the “health care” boondoggle wasn’t really opposition to the federal take over of peoples lives, it was RACISM!! Who better then to stir the racial hatred more in this country bur Mr. Al-people-voted-for-socialism-when-they-voted-for Obama Sharpton. That’s credibility right there.

Where ever race and politics intersect, you are sure to find Al Sharpton. With the recent passage of Arizona’s new immigration law, Al Sharpton has decided to join forces with Lillian Rodriguez Lopez from the Hispanic Federation in New York City to commit civil disobedience in Arizona.

The Washington Post: NEW YORK — The Rev. Al Sharpton says he’s ready to travel to Arizona and march in the streets to protest the state’s new immigration law.

Sharpton joined Lillian Rodriguez Lopez from the Hispanic Federation in New York City on Sunday to speak out against the law. They say activists are prepared to commit civil disobedience to fight it.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed the bill Friday. It requires police to question people about their immigration status – including asking for identification – if they suspect someone is in the country illegally.

The law will take effect in late July or early August.

President Barack Obama has called the new law “misguided” and has instructed the Justice Department to examine it to see if it’s legal.

On illegal immigration, Democrats are going to stir the racial pot big time. Without their filibuster proof majority in the Senate, getting amnesty passed this year will be difficult. The next best thing for the Democrats would be to create a very ugly racial ruckus over illegal immigration, in hopes to boost Hispanic support for the party.

When it comes to creating an ugly racial ruckus >>> who better than Al (ambulance chaser) Sharpton?
