Dancing with the Stars results: Bristol Palin safe, Florence Henderson eliminated
“Brady Bunch” mom Florence Henderson and partner Corky Ballas were eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” after five weeks of competition. They earned the lowest combined score of judges’ points and viewers’ votes, though Disney star Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer and Alaskan teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas earned lower scores from the judges.
The 76-year-old was gracious about leaving the show. “I have been in television for over 50 years and I have to say, in all honestly, this is one of the best produced shows I’ve ever been on.” She thanked the crew, the hosts, the musicians, “even” the judges and, of course, her “darling” partner Corky Ballas.
In the first five minutes of the show, viewers were surprised to learn that two lowest scoring couples — Disney star Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer and Alaskan teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas — received enough viewer votes to return to next week’s sixth competition episode.
Here’s some backstage media after Bristol and Mark danced last night
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas danced the Jive last night in Monkey Suits to the 1960s hit The Monkees. Tonight they were voted safe to dance again next week.
Let’s Do It Again And Keep Bristol Dancing With Mark On Dancing With The Stars By Going To ABC.com And Voting For Them!
Bristol and Mark received a score of 6-6-6 from the judges for their version of the Jive. Here it is:
Technically, she has the steps to the Jive down pat – but she had a little trouble getting out of the monkey suit. One of the judges, even said he liked them better in the monkey suits. So what do you think? I think she should win the whole thing simply for having the guts to come on the show with no performance experience whatsoever. She has natural rhythm and that’s a big plus. Her professional partner, Mark Ballas, who happens to be the son of Corky Ballas, Florence Henderson’s professional partner, has said that Bristol has an amazing ability to learn the steps and retain them even after going out on a speaking engagement in between their rehearsals.
She has learned more and accomplished more than anyone else on the show because she comes to the show clean as a whistle not having the skill of being a performer or a professional athlete.
But, she’s on the bottom of the heap this week so let’s get busy and vote to keep Mark and Bristol dancing!
This was Bristol and Mark dancing the Foxtrot this week. These two have beautiful chemistry and they make a great looking couple. They are safe to go on to week #4!
Bristol Palin is a lovely girl and a gentle soul with bundles of potential. Her presence on Dancing With The Stars brings excitement to the show simply because she is the daughter of Sarah and Todd Palin. If she can just trust her partner, Mark Ballas and relax a tiny bit more – she can win it! She is the underdog and America cheers for the underdog, even when she is the daughter of Sarah Palin.
Bristol has the rhythm, the agility, the musicality and the looks to go on and do very well. She simply has to relax and interact with the audience who is very receptive to her and ready to give her a fair chance. The judges seem to like her as well.
So Bristol the Pistol is back in business for another round of dancing next week.
Dance your heart out, Bristol, and enjoy the experience!! You are charming and adorable!
Comedian Margaret Cho and partner Louis Van Amstel were eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” on the week three results show. The couple received the lowest judges’ points on the performance show with 18. Their combined score of judges’ points and viewers’ votes was the lowest of the contestants.
I hope you haven’t lost your humor, host Brooke Burke said as Margaret was called onto stage. “Never,” Margaret replied.
“I thought the judges were really hard on me, but I think you were hard on me because you could see that I am a dancer for real,” Margaret said. “Thank you for the opportunity to let me dance.”
Louis said: “For her to put her heart out here on the dance floor… I love you, and our journey hasn’t finished.”
Margaret was crying while she danced her final dance with Louis, who looked quite emotional as he hugged her tightly. Cameras panned to two people in the audience who are presumed to be Margaret’s parents. They were clapping proudly from their seats.
“I’ve experienced every emotion on this journey just from heartache and sadness to intense joy and celebration. It’s really taken me for such a ride,” Margaret said in rehearsal footage.
Reality star Audrina Patridge with partner Tony Dovolani, NFL star Kurt Warner with Anna Trebunskaya, actress Jennifer Grey with Derek Hough, singer Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, The Situation and Karina Smirnoff, Florence Henderson and partner Corky Ballas, NBA star Rick Fox, Alaskan teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke and actor Kyle Massey with partner Lacey Schwimmer will continue to “Dancing with the Stars” for week four of competition.
