The Media Has Largely Ignored The Various Misstatements Made By Both Obama And Biden While Playing Up Every Gaffe Sarah Palin Makes

The Lame Stream Media did this to former President George W. Bush and they are going to try to do the same to former Gov. Sarah Palin … but, we won’t let them!!

Sarah Palin who has been ridiculed for her North Korean gaffe called for the media to apply even standards when it comes to candidates and their invariable gaffes.

From her Facebook page.

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s.  And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and   verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one   for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the   accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t   remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media   didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that.  Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors .

Obviously,  I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline. The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us.

If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue,  and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve .  But why let the facts get in the way of a good story? (And for that matter, why not just make up stories out of thin air – like the totally false hard news story which has run for three days now reporting that I lobbied the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” to cast a former Senate candidate on their show. That lie is further clear proof that the media completely makes things up without doing even rudimentary fact-checking.)

“Hope springs eternal” as the poet says.  Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time.  When we the people are effective in holding America’s free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

– Sarah Palin

Palin has a point.  The media has largely ignored the various misstatements made by both Obama and Biden while playing up every gaffe she makes.

And it’s not that the media thinks the president or the veep should get a pass based on their respective offices but because it represents a bias to protect them from embarrassment. That was not the standard with president Bush who was a perpetual gaffe machine and was a constant target of the liberal media.

To a certain degree Palin has now inherited that mantle as she moves closer to a 2012 presidential run and becomes more of a threat to Obama and the Democrats and the media would like to negate that threat as soon as possible.  I must give Palin credit for having the courage to take on the press and hold their feet to the fire which very few Republicans have been willing to do in the past.

Conservatives will need more of that kind of courage if they are to succeed in beating back the liberal media in the future.

American Thinker and Gov. Palin’s Summons to Serve

American Thinker columnist Robert Eugene Simmons, Jr. yesterday presented a powerful argument for why Gov. Palin should run for President in 2012:

I can’t think of a reason why Palin would want to be president and move to Washington. She clearly loves Alaska and has a wonderful family who also love Alaska as home. Palin clearly has a good thing going with the influence she has on national politics and election cycles. On a personal level, she has been able to amass a small fortune in being who she is. I don’t begrudge her the fortune, and I don’t blame her for her love of the wild beauty of Alaska.

I can’t think of a single reason she would want to move to an urban environment often choked with crime and poverty. I can’t think of a good reason why she should want even more scrutiny into her life and her doings with her children and submit to being organized 24 hours a day. I can’t think of why she would want to brave the wall of vitriol that would come from the left as well as many Republican establishment types. Make no mistake that if she does run for president, you can expect every rude, misogynistic, and disgusting word in several languages to be thrown her way.

In fact, there is only one reason I can ask Sarah Palin to brave the sewers of a presidential run. The reason is that we need her. (emphasis mine)

Simmons wrote that while other lesser-known political figures have taken on the establishment, “only Palin has shown the charisma and powerful speaking skills that can pack an auditorium to a sold-out crowd ten minutes after announcement….she speaks from the heart.”

Citing Gov. Palin’s vetoing of a law barring domestic benefits for same-sex couples when she first took office, Simmons wrote that she will ensure the law is enforced regardless of personal beliefs. Joe Hilley wrote about this extensively in Sarah Palin: A New Kind of Leader.

He applauded her unique brand of religiosity and tolerance. Though Simmons is agnostic, he feels very comfortable around Gov. Palin.

“Palin is utterly fearless, willing to take on her own party, the other party, the Federal Reserve, and anyone else who needs to be taken on to forward the interest of America,” he wrote and unyielding in her patriotism.

He wrote about her intelligence and savvy.

As Palin’s knowledge of policy, economics, and government has grown, so has the counter-story being put out by the establishment. Thanks to the internet, people can look up Palin’s past, listen to her speeches, and examine her record; the need to rely on the “big three” news services has been supplanted by the internet. Furthermore, on those same sites, Palin’s foes have been revealed as nasty, misogynistic, and potentially violent people.

“I am sorry, Sarah Palin, but we need you to serve — and for that, we need you to run,” he concluded.

Please share this story.

Missouri Rejects Obamacare … Big Time!

NO!

Three states held primary elections yesterday, but the big news today isn’t about a winning candidate, but rather a losing issue. The Missouri legislature put a proposed law (Proposition C) on the ballot exempting Missouri citizens from ObamaCare’s individual mandate. The measure passed overwhelmingly – 71%-to-29%.

More than 938,000 votes were cast for and against Proposition C, compared to 899,000 votes cast in the Republican and Democrat senatorial primary races. In other words, more Show Me state voters turned out to vote against ObamaCare than for the candidates for U.S. Senate.

An analysis of the vote is very revealing. There were significantly more votes cast in the GOP Senate primary than in the Democrat primary, but not enough to equal Proposition C’s winning total. Assuming that every Republican voter supported Proposition C, then nearly one-third of the voters in the Democrat primary must have supported Proposition C too.

The media will try to ignore it, but this was a crucial vote. Missouri is considered a political bellwether state. Since 1904, it has voted for the winning presidential candidate in every election but two. In 2008, the state split, 49.4% for John McCain to 49.3% for Barack Obama. It doesn’t get much closer than that. But last night a state that was 50/50 for Obama voted 71%-to-29% against his signature legislative initiative.

Of course this was more symbolic than anything else but it’s great to see the States move to get this on the ballots.

Oklahoma and Arizona will be next to do the same thing as Missouri – by placing a proposition on their ballots to give their citizens the opportunity to voice their rejection of Obamacare.

At present, at least 20 States are in the process of suing the government over the un-wanted Health care statute.

“The Federal Government Can Do Most Anything In This Country”, Says Congressman Pete Starks

When you watch this video – please look at the expression on the congressman’s  face.  He clearly does not know what the Constitution says nor does he care … like many of the Progressives in Congress.

Congressman Starks is perfect example of someone who has been in the Congress far too long.  He thinks that they can do anything.

This man earns $174,000 a year.  Unbelievable.

Are Illegals Swarming U.S. Military Bases?

Sheriff Arpaio posted this photo to Twitter with the following caption: "This is a message to smugglers who may think law enforcement is not prepared to encounter them in the desert."

INVASION U.S.A.

Are illegals infiltrating U.S. military bases?

By Chelsea Schilling

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is warning that illegal aliens may have gained access to a U.S. Army installation in Arizona that also serves as the nation’s largest military intelligence-training center.

“I have deep concerns that people who come into our country illegally have managed to gain access onto an active U.S. military installation,” Arpaio said in a statement today. “This cause for concern goes well beyond the argument that people are only committing the crime of wanting to work in this country.”

Arpaio’s detectives raided Valley View Building Services in central Phoenix today, searching for 25 people suspected of identity theft and fraud.

The company employs 100 people in three states and is contracted to clean newly constructed buildings at Fort Huachuca, an Army post located only 15 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border. At least one of the suspects had worked on the military installation.

The deputies took five women into custody today. Four are suspected illegal aliens arrested for identity theft and fraud. One is a U.S. citizen wanted with an outstanding warrant.

“When we went in there, one of the ladies was hiding her Mexican ID in an enchilada, trying to conceal the identification,” Arpaio said.

He said authorities are still searching for other illegal aliens who may be working for the company.

“We did serve another search warrant on the residence of the owner and, going through the papers, we’re going to determine which work sites that the others may be working at,” he said.

Arpaio told KTVK-3 TV, “One thing I want to find out is how many more illegals have been hired [to work at] Fort Huachuca. That’s a high-intelligence installation. I don’t think people should go on that installation to work if they’re in this country illegally.”

Valley View Building Services released a statement on the arrests today.

“In May of 2010 a manager for Valley View Building Services was detained on the Fort Huachuca military base for a baseless charge made by a disgruntled employee,” explained Joel Votaw, owner of the company. “This charge has since been dropped. During that investigation, it came to light that he was working in the United States illegally, even though he presented a valid Arizona drivers license and social security card. He was allowed on base (entering through the main gate and having to present his ID each time) during the entire duration of this 3-month-long project.”

Votaw said his company fired the manager immediately and that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement began a company-wide investigation into Valley View’s hiring practices. He said today’s raid was for ID theft issues and not due to violation of the employer-sanction law.

Most of the company’s workforce is Hispanic, according to news reports. Votaw said he has always verified identification of its employees through E-Verify, strictly complying with local, state and federal rules.

“Today was the first time we had received any notice that there were more problems. We support the detaining of the four people who were identified as using some other identity and we also support the detaining of the one individual that has a misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest,” he wrote. “These crimes are serious and need to be dealt with.”

Votaw continues, “We are dealing with real people and real problems that deserve to be handled respectfully and justly. If we err, let us err on the side of compassion, but let us do what is required of us both morally and constitutionally. Let us protect our country, while also realizing that we were all immigrants at one time.”

According to various reports, this is hardly the first time illegal aliens have accessed the military installation.

Retired Army officer T.J. Woodward lives in the area. In a May commentary posted on American Thinker, he wrote that he spotted an ad in a Fort Huachuca newspaper asking for volunteers to clean up trash and supplies left on the Army post by illegal aliens.

“It asked for volunteers to assist in cleaning up ‘dumps’ on posts where the illegals would drop their supplies used to cross the border and change clothing,” Woodward wrote. “They do this in order to blend in and not look like they just spent a day or two crossing the border in the dust and heat of southern Arizona.”

He added, “The most frightening part of this is that Fort Huachuca is the U.S. Army Intelligence Center, where the Army trains its intelligence soldiers – analysts, interrogators, radio intercept specialists and counterintelligence agents – for operations overseas. If we can’t secure the fort we use to train our intelligence soldiers, how can we secure anything else?”

In 2007, The Washington Times reported Fort Huachuca changed security measures “after sources warned that possibly 60 Afghan and Iraqi terrorists were to be smuggled into the U.S. through underground tunnels with high-powered weapons to attack the Arizona Army base.”

An FBI advisory stated, “A portion of the operatives were in the United States, with the remainder not yet in the United States. The Afghanis and Iraqis shaved their beards so as not to appear to be Middle Easterners.”

According to the report, illegal aliens from the Middle East paid Mexican drug lords $20,000 “or the equivalent in weapons” for smuggling them and their weapons through the tunnels.

One source who spoke with DEA intelligence agents said the weapons included two Milan antitank missiles, Soviet-made surface-to-air missiles, grenade launchers, long guns and handguns.

The Tucson Weekly reported one rancher just west of Fort Huachuca answered his door in 2004 when a female illegal alien asked to use his phone.

According to the report, the call was to Libya.

As WND recently reported, thousands of illegal aliens apprehended along the 2,000-mile border stretching through California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas aren’t even from Mexico. Many are citizens of countries that are known sponsors of terrorism, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, Syria and Iran.

Arpaio’s crime sweep took place just before a federal judge blocked some of the toughest provisions in Arizona’s illegal-immigration law, S.B. 1070.

Say It Loud And Clear – Martin Luther King Jr. Was A Republican

Why Martin Luther King Was Republican

by Frances Rice – HUMAN EVENTS

August 16, 2006

Rice is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, a lawyer, and chairman of the National Black Republican Association (NBRA).

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S’s: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman’s issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy is lauded as a proponent of civil rights. However, Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Act while he was a senator, as did Democrat Sen. Al Gore Sr. And after he became President, Kennedy was opposed to the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph, who was a black Republican. President Kennedy, through his brother Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King.

In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King’s leaving Memphis, Tenn., after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, called Dr. King a “trouble-maker” who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

Given the circumstances of that era, it is understandable why Dr. King was a Republican. It was the Republicans who fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860s, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 186 7 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks. Republicans also started the NAACP and affirmative action with Republican President Richard Nixon’s 1969 Philadelphia Plan (crafted by black Republican Art Fletcher) that set the nation’s fist goals and timetables. Although affirmative action now has been turned by the Democrats into an unfair quota system, affirmative action was begun by Nixon to counter the harm caused to blacks when Democrat President Woodrow Wilson in 1912 kicked all of the blacks out of federal government jobs.

Few black Americans know that it was Republicans who founded the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Unknown also is the fact that Republican Sen. Everett Dirksen from Illinois was key to the passage of civil rights legislation in 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1965. Not mentioned in recent media stories about extension of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is the fact that Dirksen w rote the language for the bill. Dirksen also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing. President Lyndon Johnson could not have achieved passage of civil rights legislation without the support of Republicans.

Critics of Republican Sen. Barry Goldwater, who ran for President against Johnson in 1964, ignore the fact that Goldwater wanted to force the Democrats in the South to stop passing discriminatory laws and thus end the need to continuously enact federal civil rights legislation.

Those who wrongly criticize Goldwater also ignore the fact that Johnson, in his 4,500 State of the Union Address delivered on Jan. 4, 1965, mentioned scores of topics for federal action, but only 35 words were devoted to civil rights. He did not mention one word about voting rights. Then in 1967, showing his anger with Dr. King’s protest against the Vietnam War, Johnson referred to Dr. King as “that Nigger preacher.”

Contrary to the false assertions by Democrats, the racist “Dixiecrats” did not all migrate to the Republican Party. “Dixiecrats” declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than vote for a Republican because the Republican Party was know as the party for blacks. Today, some of those “Dixiecrats” continue their political careers as Democrats, including Robert Byrd, who is well known for having been a “Keagle” in the Ku Klux Klan.

Another former “Dixiecrat” is former Democrat Sen. Ernest Hollings, who put up the Confederate flag over the state Capitol when he was the governor of South Carolina. There was no public outcry when Democrat Sen. Christopher Dodd praised Byrd as someone who would have been “a great senator for any moment,” including the Civil War. Yet Democrats denounced then-Senate GOP leader Trent Lott for his remarks about Sen. Strom Thurmond (R.-S.C.). Thurmond w as never in the Ku Klux Klan and defended blacks against lynching and the discriminatory poll taxes imposed on blacks by Democrats. If Byrd and Thurmond were alive during the Civil War, and Byrd had his way, Thurmond would have been lynched.

The 30-year odyssey of the South switching to the Republican Party began in the 1970s with President Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy,” which was an effort on the part of Nixon to get Christians in the South to stop voting for Democrats who did not share their values and were still discriminating against their fellow Christians who happened to be black. Georgia did not switch until 2002, and some Southern states, including Louisiana, are still controlled by Democrats.

Today, Democrats, in pursuit of their socialist agenda, are fighting to keep blacks poor, angry and voting for Democrats. Examples of how egregiously Democrats act to keep blacks in poverty are numerous.

After wrongly convincing bl ack Americans that a minimum wage increase was a good thing, the Democrats on August 3 kept their promise and killed the minimum wage bill passed by House Republicans on July 29. The blockage of the minimum wage bill was the second time in as many years that Democrats stuck a legislative finger in the eye of black Americans. Senate Democrats on April 1, 2004, blocked passage of a bill to renew the 1996 welfare reform law that was pushed by Republicans and vetoed twice by President Clinton before he finally signed it. Since the welfare reform law expired in September 2002, Congress had passed six extensions, and the latest expired on June 30, 2004. Opposed by the Democrats are school choice opportunity scholarships that would help black children get out of failing schools and Social Security reform, even though blacks on average lose $10,000 in the current system because of a shorter life expectancy than whites (72.2 years for blacks vs. 77.5 years for whites).

Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats’ stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party’s economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

Democratic Governors Tell Obama: Your Lawsuit Against AZ Is ‘Toxic’

Published July 12, 2010 | FoxNews.com

Democratic governors expressed “grave” concerns to White House officials this weekend about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, warning it could cost the party in crucial elections this fall, The New York Times reported late Sunday.

The closed-door meeting took place at the National Governors Association in Boston on Saturday, according to two unnamed governors who spoke to the Times.

“Universally the governors are saying, ‘We’ve got to talk about jobs, and all of a sudden we have immigration going on,'” Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, a Democrat, was quoted as saying. “It is such a toxic subject, such an important time for Democrats.”

The Arizona law, which is facing a U.S. Justice Department challenge, requires police to question people about their immigration status while enforcing other laws if there’s reason to suspect someone is in the country illegally.

“I might have chosen both a different tack and a different time,” Gov. Bill Ritter Jr. of Colorado, a Democrat, was quoted by the Times as saying. “This is an issue that divides us politically, and I’m hopeful that their strategy doesn’t do that in a way that makes it more difficult for candidates to get elected, particularly in the West.”

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano met privately with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, who signed the immigration bill into law last month, for a half-hour on Sunday.

Napolitano, the former governor of Arizona, ignored a request for comment following their meeting, but Brewer said the two did not discuss the lawsuit. Instead, she said they had a cordial conversation centered on her efforts to win Arizona more National Guard troops to guard its border with Mexico, as well as her plea for reconnaissance helicopters and more unmanned aerial vehicles to prevent illegal crossings.

Attorney General Eric Holder, meanwhile, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday that the federal government was leading with its “strongest” argument in the suit filed Tuesday and would not rule out a second suit months down the road — if the law ends up going into effect.

“It doesn’t mean that if the law for whatever reason happened to go into effect, that six months from now, a year from now, we might not look at the impact the law has had … and see whether or not there has been that racial profiling impact,” Holder said. “If that was the case, we would have the tools and we would bring suit on that basis.”

The lawsuit filed last week in U.S. District Court in Arizona claimed the state was infringing on federal immigration responsibilities and urged the judge to prevent the law from going into effect at the end of July. Despite some officials’ claims that the law could lead to racial profiling, that concern was not cited as grounds for the suit.

We have to stop and ask ourselves, “What is going on in this administration?”  We have a ‘Justice Department Gone Wild’.   President Obama is showing us what ‘swamp politics’ look and smell like.  He is unbelievable.   When a president will not listen to governors of his own party – we know this is a ‘runaway train’ on it’s way to hell.

Governor Brewer is the Governor of the Year!  She knows how to hang tough.
